Are You a Slave to Obsessive Behaviour?
Obsessive behaviour is invariably a response to anxiety.
It starts historical and becomes habitual – a learned response that appears to offer temporary relief or a sense of greater ‘control’.
Typically, the symptoms themselves are distressing and yet often manifest themselves in doing ordinary things in extraordinary or excessive ways.
Like washing hands again and again, or checking lights, or locks, or repeating actions, again and again and again.
Checking – and repetitive re-checking – can create real tension among those who witness it, be they family or friends, or colleagues at work.
From my perspective, years of successful experience in dealing with individual cases has demonstrated to me that the mind is a self-curing mechanism.
Through hypnotherapy, what has been ‘learned’ can be ‘un-learned.’ The script can be rewritten – it’s not hardwired.
Patterns can be modified. Rituals can be recognised and replaced with more appropriate responses. Habits can be changed – they are not set in stone.
Yet as ever, your willingness to get to the root of the problem is fundamental to success and ‘Nothing changes – if nothing changes!’
In my experience, once you recognise the root of the trouble, it is totally possible to normalise obsessive behaviour and allow the former sufferer to enjoy a new freedom and a new happiness.
What is certain is that repeating the same behaviour, hoping for a different result, makes no sense whatsoever. Never has, never will.
I can help you change your habitual behaviour, for the better – sometimes very quickly!
What’s more, I can tell you with total confidence that sooner or later, better feelings always follow better behaviour.
